"Dale was superb at creating a
relaxed, positive atmosphere where we felt safe to sing out
and try different voice parts, in a variety of selections.
Obviously a gifted musician as well as an excellent teacher,
he used the piano, guitar and his own voice to illustrate
concepts - it was a wonderful day!"
(Roger Temple,
President, Sooke Community Choir)
I get great pleasure out of teaching, and love
the time I spend working with many wonderful students.
We all get a lot of enjoyment out of the process
of working on new songs, and becoming better musicians
in the process.
I teach both individuals and groups, and have given
many workshops and courses for colleges, music camps,
choirs and community organizations, including:
Puget Sound Guitar Workshop
Georgia Strait Guitar Workshop
BC Bluegrass Workshop
Island Mountain Arts Festival
Capilano College
Vancouver Community College
Douglas College
Wintersong Festival (West Vancouver)
Pacific Bluegrass Heritage Society
Victoria Bluegrass Association
Sooke Community Choir
Sweet Harmony Singers (Quesnel, BC)
BC Post-Secondary Staff Conference
Dancing Dragon Studio (Yellowpoint, BC)
Special, one-time private workshops are
available for small and large groups, and for choirs
wanting help with ear-training and learning harmony
by ear. Please contact me at info@dalerasmussen.com
for a price quote on a workshop for your group.
All workshops and classes focus on supportive instruction,
in the context of some wonderful songs, while providing
the opportunity to take chances, stretch ourselves
musically and connect with others who share our
love of music.

Here's what a few students have said:
"...having worked with many
vocal instructors, I can easily say that Dale is
one of the best. His encouraging, motivating and
inclusive style make working with Dale a lot of
fun. I always learn a lot from him. He is very good
at balancing the level and needs of singers in his
class while making everyone feel welcome and respected
as musicians."
"...Dale is gifted at making
students feel relaxed and confident. He creates
an environment where it feels safe to sing out!"
"...thanks for your support,
wonderful leadership and sheer love of music, it's
inspiring and infectious. It has been such a lift
to participate in the group and to be a part of
'making beautiful music' together!"
"...our community is better
because of music and songs. Thank you for all you
do with your gifts!"
